Frankfurt am Main Doctoral Node
The research cooperation between the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (Faculty 2, Fachbereich 2: Informatik und Ingenieurwissenschaften) at Frankfurt University and Plymouth University is newly established in 2015.
For a Ph.D. candidate supervision will be in Frankfurt (1st and 2nd supervisor) and in Plymouth (3rd supervisor). The Ph.D. degree will be granted by the Plymouth University, Ph.D. students regularly exchange research results at Ph.D. seminars in Frankfurt as well as the annual joint SEIN (Collaborative Research Symposium on Security, E-learning, Internet and Networking). The Ph.D. program undergoes strict quality assurance. Tuition fees apply.

The Frankfurt Node
The newly established Frankfurt Node with node director Prof. Dr. Bogdan Ghita is part of the CSCAN network of the Centre for Security, Communications and Network Research at the Plymouth University.
Partner on the Frankfurt Node side is the Centre of Competence for Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (CCNDS) covering the following research groups:

- Telecommunications Networks
- Wireless and Smart Sensor Networks

The Centre for Security, Communications and Network Research at the Plymouth University, is an established research group, comprising staff from the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics at Plymouth University.
The CSCAN Network currently comprises four network nodes.
