Noise in Urban Environments

Construction activities generate noise. This noise is perceived as considerably disturbing in urban environments and is often the trigger for legal disputes. Confronted with this fact, the responsible persons for construction sites are increasingly prompted to take extensive measures of all kinds. Besides the construction noise, traffic noise in densely constructed Downtown Areas leads to a high level of noise. In the confined urban space situations of large cities with gigantic Façade areas the design of a façade can have an influence on the acoustic atmosphere of the urban environment in front of it.
