FAQ on the measures of the university

On this page we summarize important information about the actions of Frankfurt UAS during the Corona crisis. The web page will continue to be populated as additional information becomes available. This information will always be kept as current as possible; however, due to the very rapidly changing situation, we cannot guarantee that it is up-to-date. Please always check the current status.

Status: 11:30 am | 2021/09/01

The university campus is open.

The aim is to maintain university operations and to enable employees to work in a manner that is safe from a health point of view.

The general hygiene measures (minimum distance of 2 meters and mask requirement) apply to presence at the university. In addition, events will be held online when possible.

The opening hours of the buildings are set to Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 20:00.

On Saturdays, the univerisity will be open as follows:

All buildings will be open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

On Sundays, all buildings will be closed.

In compliance with COVID lockdown regulations, lectures will continue in the summer semester to take place primary in online formats.

After May 19th there will be some face-to-face courses or examinations if it is absolutely necessary. All participants will have to provide a negative professional corona rapid test that must not be older than 24 hours.

As of 21-06-02, a professional rapid testing site will be operating at Café 1 (building 1, ground floor).

All university employees work from home unless their presence on Campus is absolutely required. They can be contacted via email.

The AHA+L-rules ("AHA+L": distance + hygiene +  masks + ventilation) are mandatory.

The winter semester will take place in person.

Medical masks must be worn in all buildings. FFP2 masks are recommended.

As of 21-06-02, a professional rapid testing site will be operating at Café 1 (building 1, ground floor). The rapid testing site can be visited free of charge, several times a week.

The AHA+L-rules ("AHA+L": distance + hygiene +  masks + ventilation) are mandatory.

Members of a security service are on duty on the campus and in the buildings to control the implementation of the university's hygiene regulations. The instructions of the security service must be followed.

The instructions of the local responsible health office always apply!
Until you have the test result, behave as if you were tested positive.

If you have tested positive for SARS COVID19 or have to go into quarantine (also called domestic seclusion) due to official orders, e.g. as a related person in the same household or so-called contact category I, the official orders apply.

Please enter the test result into the Corona Warning App. For more information, please see the Infection Prevention and Quarantine Fact Sheet.
For staff and faculty:

Within the university, please be sure to inform your supervisors and Occupational Health and Safety (arbeitsschutz(at)hr.fra-uas.de) as well as the HR department via abwesenheitsmeldung(at)hr.fra-uas.remove-this.de.

As long as the course of the illness is mild, you will perform your work duties remotely.

For students:

Immediately report the quarantine or Category I contact to Occupational Safety and Health: arbeitsschutz(at)hr.fra-uas.de.
If necessary, further steps will be taken and communicated to protect university employees.

If you have had contact via third parties, our robust recommended safety measures will suffice.

If you have had close contact (e.g. contact under 1.5 meters without a mask for more than 15 minutes or several hours with a mask in an unventilated room) with a person who has tested positive, the previous instructions concerning "tested positive" apply.

If you had Category II contact, meaning you followed the rules ("AHA+L": distance + hygiene +  masks + ventilation) , then almost no further action needs to be taken. For more information, see the RKI's chart on contact tracing (Schaubild des RKI).

However, pay even stricter attention to compliance and implementation of the AHA+L rules and contact the authorities at 116117 or the local phone number if symptoms occur.

If you have tested positive for SARS COVID19 or are required to go into quarantine (or domestic seclusion) by official orders, for example, as a related person in the same household or so-called contact category I, the official orders apply.

For students:
Report the quarantine or contact Category I immediately to Occupational Safety and Health: arbeitsschutz(at)hr.fra-uas.remove-this.de.

For staff and faculty:
Within the university, please be sure to inform your supervisors and Occupational Health and Safety ( arbeitsschutz(at)hr.fra-uas.remove-this.de) as well as the HR department via Abwesenheitsmeldung(at)hr.fra-uas.remove-this.de.

If necessary, further steps will be taken here to protect university employees.

If you have had contact through third parties, our robust and above recommended measures are sufficient.

Be sure to comply with quarantine regulations and requirements.

As of now, Courses will primary be taught as online courses.

For more information, see "Corona regulations".

The federal legislature has declared that "pandemic-related closures of educational institutions within the meaning of Section 2 BAföG as well as abroad (short-term closures of educational institutions or extension of their lecture-free periods) are harmless under funding law." Students, pupils who are dependent on benefits under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) should therefore not suffer any financial disadvantages if their training institution is temporarily closed or the start of the semester is postponed due to the COVID 19 pandemic. For more information, visit the HMWK website at  How does Corona affect the issues surrounding BAföG and AFBG? (as of 10/21/2020).

Exams are still taking place. Compliance of necessary security and hygiene regulations is required. Should this be not possible, Faculties and lecturers are called upon to offer alternative examination formats (for example online). Should this not be possible either due to specific competencies that need to be assessed, the examination will be postponed to a later date.

All exams which can be done online should be done online - with the exemption of written exams.

Your faculty will inform you at least two weeks prior to the exam about the specific details for the exam.

In deviation from § 9 . 2 of the „Allgemeine Bestimmungen“ (General provisions) Bachelor/Master, a new withdrawal regulation has been stipulated. For written examinations and oral exams as final or partial module examination, the student can declare his or her withdrawal from the examination without giving specific reasons, by simply not showing up in the physical or virtual examination room. In this case, the examination performance is booked as withdrawal (code „RU“), so that the examination attempt is deemed not to have been taken.

Exchange students who are scheduled for an oral examination between 29 June and 31 October 2020 and whose planned stay has already ended by this examination date can submit an application for SARS-CoV-2 exceptional regulations to the respective examination board. The application must be accompanied by appropriate evidence that it is not possible to attend the examination. The examination committee decides on the application and the appropriate special SARS-CoV-2 arrangements for an exam.

The SARS-CoV-2 special regulation also applies to foreign students who are enrolled in a course of study at Frankfurt UAS and who, due to travel, entry and residence restrictions brought about by SARS-Covid-19, cannot take part in a classroom exam in the summer semester 2020.

Please contact your faculty for more details:

Regarding options for recognition, repetition or conclusion of interrupted or aborted internships, we are in contact with the practice partners and will be working out a joint solution.
