Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Training

U!REKA COIL design workshops take place on May 30th and June 2nd.

Do you have an idea for a virtual collaboration project with an international partner? Do you want to internationalize your curriculum or connect it to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? Then register for the U!REKA COIL design workshops on Monday, May 30th and Thursday, June 2nd from 10:00 – 13:00 CEST. This training is offered in collaboration with our U!REKA partners.

COIL aims to connect curricular-based courses across universities with the tools of digitally-enhanced teaching. The goal is to create learning environments in which professors and students collaborate internationally and develop a common curriculum that promotes experiential and collaborative student learning. The method was developed at the State University of New York and has since evolved into a global network.

Eva Haug (U!REKA partner university Amsterdam UAS) is an experienced speaker and internationally recognized expert on this method. The training workshops will be held in English and are aimed at interested teachers who already have an idea for a COIL format.

The workshops will help participants to:

- Internationalize learning outcomes
- Design group assignments focused on intercultural cooperation
- Support reflection and assessment
- Create icebreakers
- Understand tech and tools for your virtual project
