Overview

The degree course Business Law conveys you the competence to apply legal and economic expert knowledge to complex questions of economic life and develop interdisciplinary solutions. You will also learn to familiarize yourself with new areas of expertise and special questions method-based and how to professionally present work results.

The LL.B. program in Business Law comprises 60% law, 30% economics and 10% key qualifications.

This degree course is the right choice for you if you have the following set of skills: analytical thinking, abstraction capabilities, excellent knowledge of the written German language, good English and math skills as well as an interest in political and economic global affairs.

Practical study term included – opportunity to go abroad

A practical study term and the chance to study at a European or non-European partner university for one or more semesters top off your studies.

Duration of studies and admission requirements

The degree course takes seven semesters and can be started in the summer and winter semester of each year. The admission requirements are a university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or the general higher education entrance qualification. The curriculum includes the following:

among others, civil law, labor law, trade law, company law, contract, contract design, insolvency law, law enforcement, European law, European and international economic law, commercial criminal law and public commercial law.

particularly economics, general business administration, controlling, accounting, human resources and organization.

Presentation, communication and moderation training, conveyance of the English legal vocabulary for business lawyers.

Admission requirements

The admission deadline for the receipt of the application ends on January 15 for the summer semester and on July 15, for the winter semester. For the random study place allocation a separate and informal application must be submitted. The application period starts two weeks prior to the begin of the lectures of the respective semester and ends on the day of the begin of the lectures of the respective semester.

The degree course is admission restricted. The study spot placement takes place via a local NC procedures.

Prospects

Possible fields of action are particularly in the legal and sales departments of trade, service and industrial corporations, in banks, management and human resources consultancies, tax consultancies, audit firms and in large law firms.
