Have you attained your higher education entrance qualification abroad, are you interested in a Bachelor degree course at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences but you 'only' have an indirect higher education entrance qualification? This is the case if your higher education entrance qualification attained abroad is not equally recognized to a German higher education entrance qualification (indirect higher education entrance qualification), then you have to attend the preparatory college prior to starting your studies and successfully complete the assessment test.
The preparatory college usually takes two semesters and ends with the assessment test. This test can only be repeated once. With this certificate of the assessment test you acquire the 'subject-specific higher education entrance qualification'.
After a successful application via uni-assist and after processing the application by the International Office of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, you will receive an invitation for an admission test. This is not yet an admission to a degree course.
The Admission test (German examination) takes place twice a year at the preparatory college (in January and in June). The test at the preparatory college may only be repeated twice.
Attention! The admission tests at the preparatory college in Hesse usually all take place on the same day.
The credentials from your home country determine the study direction at the preparatory college in Germany, which is often restricted to only one discipline or individual degree courses. This is why you can only complete the preparatory course in the core subjects of M, T, W, or G which you are entitled to by means of the certificates from your home country. Your foreign credentials are the decisive factor. If you are only entitled to study technology in accordance with your credentials, you may only take courses in technology, core course T. Another field, for instance business administration, core course W, is not possible. Only once you have successfully completed your higher education in Germany, the specialization-relation from the home country is voided.
