Located in Germany's principal international airport hub and bustling business centre, the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences is a state university with a history of successful practice-oriented, yet academically sound study programs.
Founded in 1971, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences now consists of four faculties: Architecture, Engineering, Business and Law, and Health and Social Work. 650 full-time professors and part-time teaching staff, chosen for their relevant professional experience as well as their academic qualifications, guarantee that our students receive a top quality training. They are complemented by 220 administrative staff, who, for instance, support students throughout the application process and in their day-to-day dealings with the university, or see to it that the implemented quality management translates into thoroughly monitored, and constantly improved programme delivery.
Frankfurt's dynamic and international culture is reflected in the university's student population: More than 10,000 students, sharing more than 100 nationalities among them, value Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences diverse culture as well as its longstanding partnerships with universities and corporations around the world a springboard to the global job market.
It is the Faculty of Business and Law has been especially active, offering nine Bachelor and six Master degrees. In addition to its long-running programmes in business administration and business law, it has built a portfolio of specialised programmes. In particular, it has cultivated its expertise in logistics and aviation. The faculty's Bachelor of Arts in Aviation Management has been running as cooperative degree since 2006. Devised in close cooperation with strong industry partners like airport companies and airlines, the programme is tailored to provide the qualifications today's aviation managers need. Lecurers include full-time aviation and business professors with a successful history in the industry and relevant Ph.D. degrees as well as part-time lecturers still actively involved in challenging management positions in their fields.
Building on this successful degree course, and again with relevant industry input, the faculty launched its MBA degree in 2011.
The University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt am Main lies in the popular district of Nordend some 20 minutes by public transport from the main railway station. All departments and other facilities are located on campus. The lectures of the MBA Avation and Tourism Management take place at the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM).
