Data protection statement according to Article 13 GDPR for "International Week - Faculty of Social Work & Health"
This data protection declaration applies to registering as a speaker for the event “International Week” from May 12-16th, 2025.
The event will be held primarily in person. Individual lectures may be held via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Data protection regarding Zoom can be found here: www.frankfurt-university.de/zoom-ds. (German only).
We ensure that your data and your privacy are protected. In the following you can see which data we process when, why we process them, and the legal basis upon which they are processed according to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Your data will be processed as part of the event “International Week” from May 12-16th, 2025.

3. Data processing
In order to register you for the event, we process the following categories of your personal data if you have entered the data in the registration form:
- Name and additions to your name (form of address, title, surname, first name, etc.)
- Contact details (email address, institution)
- Media content from the event (photos, videos)
- Academic and participation details (focus points of teaching, research and/or practice, academic background, profile photo, etc.)
- Travel information (arrival/departure date, invitation letter...)
Certificates confirming participation will be issued as needed with the date of participation and the name and name additions based on the data that you entered when registering.
4. Purpose and legal basis for the processing
Your personal data are processed for the following purposes:
- Organizing, registering, preparing, and following up on the event (including creating guest profiles from data in the registration forms, publishing these on the public website of the International Week hosted by Faculty 4, and saving these guest profiles for the strategic follow-up of the International Week)

5. Categories of recipients
Your data as described in point 4 will be processed within the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences by staff members
- in Faculty 4 – organizing, carrying out, and following-up on the event
- in the Communication Department – registration via the web portal.
Data is transmitted to third parties as follows:
- The public guest profiles can be viewed by users of the FRA-UAS website.
6. Data transmitted to countries outside of the EU
No data will be transmitted to a country outside the EU.
7. Duration for which data is saved
Guest profiles
For the International Week, the guest profiles are saved for the purposes of documentation and for planning future International Weeks until the “International Week” event series is terminated. The public guest profiles will be taken offline and deleted from Typo-3 at the latest 4 weeks after the end of the event.
Name badges / certificates confirming participation or similar documents
Name badges and certificates confirming participation that were not used or were returned will be destroyed immediately following the event or at the latest one week after the event.
8. Rights of the data subjects
Each person whose personal data we process has the following rights: Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and right to object (Art. 21 GDPR).
a. Right to object
According to Art. 21 GDPR, the data subject has the right to object to their data being processed at any time. After you have objected, we do not process your personal data unless we can show proof of compelling legitimate reasons for processing these data that override your interests, rights, and freedoms or if the processing is for the purpose of establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims. In this case, you must give reasons for your objection that arise from your particular situation.
b. Revoking consent
The data subject may revoke their consent at any time. This revocation of consent does not affect the legality of the data processed based on the consent up until the consent was revoked.
9. Possibility to lodge a complaint

10. Provision of data
You are not required to provide data, but it is only possible to participate in the event if you send us the data we need, which are collected in fields marked as mandatory. You are not required to send us additional, optional data, and if you do so then this is done on a voluntary basis.
