During the first ever university-wide U!REKA Week from November 24-28th, 2025, guests from the U!REKA European University Alliance joined us in Frankfurt for job-shadowing, guest lectures, an Urban Circular Hack(athon) and much more.
At the Faculty of Social Work and Health, nine guest lectures from U!REKA lecturers from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Hogeschool Gent (HOGENT) in Belgium and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Finnland were integrated into courses at the faculty during the course of the week on topics broadly related to democracy or care democracy. A cooperation workshop and a Dean's meeting were also held to explore new ideas and deepen existing forms of cooperation within U!REKA. Thank you to all the attending guests for engaging with our students and lecturers and contributing to expanding the U!REKA community in social work and healthcare.
Parallel to the U!REKA Week, students and lecturers from universities in Greece, Finland, Ireland, and Malta took part in the Erasmus Blended Intensive Program (BIP) Political Empowerment in Social Work and Healthcare, coordinated by the Applied Nursing Sciences program of Frankfurt UAS. This project provided opportunities to exchange perspectives, address common challenges and empower students to raise their voices and be heard as future social and healthcare workers.
