Graduation Assistance for International Students
The support is intended for international students in the final phase of their studies. The grants are primarily intended to protect exam candidates from financial hardship. A selection committee consisting of professors and employees of Frankfurt UAS decides on the allocation and amount of the scholarships
First and foremost, the grant is awarded for the semester in which the thesis is written. As a rule, 3 months are funded.
Who is entitled: Support is given to international students who are in the last or second to last semester who register for the thesis in the next semester.
Students who receive a scholarship under STIBET I are generally allowed to work part-time. The maximum amount of a full scholarship is €992 per month. In order not to exceed the specified upper limit, full scholarships are not usually awarded. If additional employment is taken up, the scholarship rate may be reduced accordingly so that the permissible total amount is not exceeded.
Example of monthly limits
Students: €992 (full scholarship) + €556 gross (additional income) = €1,548 Students: €600 (partial scholarship) + €948 gross (additional income) = €1,548
For full and partial scholarships, the following applies: If the sum of the scholarship rate and gross additional income exceeds the applicable limit, the scholarship rate will be reduced by the corresponding amount. This rule applies to every month in which a secondary activity is carried out.
Scholarship and BAföG
International students who receive BAföG can also receive a scholarship. However, the scholarship must be reported to the responsible BAföG office, which will then check whether a reduction in the BAföG rate is necessary.
