Workshops | English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI)
Many teachers already have a very good level of English – and yet teaching in a foreign language can still be challenging. EMI courses provide support in this area: practical, collegial, and solution-oriented—without pointing fingers, but rather as an invitation to further development. Because EMI is not only about language skills, but also about further developing proven teaching methods in a new context.
EMI refers to the use of English as the medium of instruction in specialized courses – regardless of the subject. It is not just a matter of presenting content in English. Rather, the focus is on questions such as: How do I interact with international students? How do I simplify my language without simplifying the content? How do I deal with different cultural expectations in the teaching-learning process?
