Late Arrival
Newly enrolled students who do not receive an appointment at the German embassy in their home country in time to arrive before the start of lectures before a given semester have various possibilities to proceed under these difficult circumstances.
A deferment of admission is not possible.
Admissions are valid for the given semester only and cannot be deferred to a later semester.
Depending on your degree course, taking up lectures and courses after the regular start of lectures may be possible. At the bottom of this page you will find concrete information and contact info sorted by degree course. Should your degree course not be listed below, please send an email to international.admission(at)fra-uas.de and let us know.
Option 1: Withdrawal from enrollment
If you don't wish to stay enrolled, you can withdraw from enrollment.
As long as you have not been enrolled yet, you can withdraw your application for enrollment in your FranCa application portal. If you have already transferred the semester fee, it will be refunded in full.
Once your enrollment has been processed you can withdraw from enrollment until the start of lectures by filing for withdrawal in your FranCa portal for Students. In this case the semester fee will be partly refunded; the administrative fee of 50 € is non-refundable. If at the time of withdrawal your Study Chip (student ID card) has been produced, the Study Chip fee of 10 € cannot be refunded either.
Please note that you will have to apply again via uni assist, if you wish to start your studies with us. The uni assist fee cannot be refunded.
Option 2: Staying enrolled
You may stay enrolled at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences even if you cannot arrive in time for the start of classes. This way you keep your place with us do not need to re-apply via uni assist.
Your subject related semesters as well as your universiy semester will be counted. A leave of absence is not possible, as this prevents you from receiving a visa.
Please note:
The semester fee is non-refundable.
You still need to have a valid health insurance - without a valid health insurance re-enrollment for the next semester is not possible.
Health insurance fees usually need to be paid even if you do not enter the country. Please contact your health insurance as early as possible and find out the conditions in your particular case.
