APPRISE presents research results in London at the 9th International Congress on Information and Communication Technology (ICICT 2024)

In a study, the Applied Research in Industrial Service (APPRISE) research group at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences investigated why some companies decide against using remote Augmented Reality (remote AR). To this end, 130 companies in the mechanical and plant engineering sector were surveyed between September 2022 and June 2023 regarding their approval of implementation-relevant parameters.

The analysis of the response behaviour between three different status groups (so-called adopters, testers and non-adopters) shows significant differences and helps to explain why mechanical and plant engineering companies may be reluctant to introduce remote AR, even though they recognize the potential of the technology in principle.

The results of this analysis will soon be published in the article "Comparing Adopter, Tester, and Non-adopter of Collaborative Augmented Reality for Industrial Services" in the Springer book series Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (ISSN: 2367-3370).
