About VGU

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is a Vietnamese state university that was founded in close partnership with Germany. Its aim is to combine German standards of excellence in research and teaching with the local requirements of Vietnam. The VGU offers degree programs in engineering, information technology, economics, and management—with a strong focus on sustainability and international networking.

What we do - our tasks:

• Welcome and support for exchange students
  Each semester, we welcome students from VGU who are completing an exchange semester with us as part of their study program – particularly those studying Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).
   
• Coordination of the exchange program
  We take care of organizing the exchange semesters, including study advising, course selection, support during the semester, and administrative procedures in close coordination with VGU.
   
• Support from tutors
  To make it easier for VGU students to get started with us, experienced tutors are available to assist them. These tutors accompany and support the students, especially in the early stages, help with organizational questions, and offer technical support.
   
• Housing
  All VGU students who receive a DAAD scholarship are accommodated directly by us. We support students who finance themselves in finding suitable accommodation.
   
• Support through DAAD-scholarships
  VGU students are usually funded by a DAAD scholarship as part of the exchange program. We accompany the application and selection process, coordinate the payment of scholarship funds, and are available as a point of contact.
   
• Cultural integration and support program
  In addition to the academic stay, we offer a comprehensive support program to help students settle into their new cultural environment. This includes an intensive German language course, excursions, networking events, and a welcome event.

Our common goal

Close cooperation with VGU helps to strengthen scientific collaboration, promote intercultural skills, and enable young talents to gain international experience. In this way, we make an important contribution to sustainable academic networking between Germany and Vietnam.
