Corona: FAQ for Faculty 2

The faculty has implemented major changes to its operations in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the general FAQ list of the Frankfurt UAS on the effects of the corona pandemic on everyday university life, we have compiled specific information regarding our faculty on this website (regularly updated). If you miss important topics, please contact Kristina Danneberg at kristina.danneberg(at)

I'm not feeling well. Can I still come to university?

NO, if you show at least one of the following symptoms:

  • fever (38,0 °C or higher)
  • dry cough (not caused by chronic illness, e.g. asthma)
  • disturbance of the sense of taste or smell (not as an accompanying symptom of a cold)

Please stay at home until you have been free of fever and in good general condition for at least one day. Afterwards, you can return to the university; a medical certificate is not required.

YES, if you only have a rhinitis or a slight cough and show now other symptoms.

On campus and in all the buildings, masks are to be worn at all times (only medical masks, i.e. surgical or FFP2 masks, are allowed!).

Please note:

On campus and in our buildings, masks are to be worn at all times. Only medical masks (surgical or FFP2 masks) are allowed.

Contact and Accessibility

Our laboratories will remain open for lab staff, including student employees and tutors. Access is limited to these individuals. The laboratory management will decide whether individual students working on research projects may use the respective laboratory.

All safety regulations must be observed. An adequate distance between individuals must be maintained. Surfaces, especially door handles and keyboards, must be disinfected regularly. Everyone should wash their hands more often and intensively than usual. Those who feel symptoms of illness, please stay at home to minimize the risk of infecting other people.

Unfortunately, our computer rooms have to remain closed for the time being. Please use our university's central "PC-Pool" (German only) in building 1, room 349.

We are still available for you by e-mail and telephone.
Here you will find your contact persons in the examination offices (German only) of our teaching units Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering.

Oral and written final examinations

All written exam work will be subject to a 14-day extension. This was decided by the Executive Board of Frankfurt UAS on January 28, 2021. This decision also applies to all exam work begun before January 27 and still to be submitted and includes project work, written papers as well as written parts of portfolio examinations, term papers and the Bachelor's and Master's theses. The flat-rate extension comes into effect subsequent to the general deadline for submission.

If flat-rate and/or individual extensions of more than 14 days have already been granted, these will be offset against the currently requested extension. Extensions of the deadline due to illness and compensation for disadvantages remain unaffected.
The decision of the Executive Board applies to all examinations still to be taken until March 31, 2021.

In the winter semester 2020/21, the changed withdrawal period from exams is no longer valid: You must not stay away from registered exams without giving a reason. If you were unable to take your exam due to illness, you must submit a medical certificate. This certificate must be sent to the examination office (sorry, this page is only available in German) by e-mail no later than the 3rd day after the examination.

If you would like to register a final thesis (Bachelor's or Master's thesis), please contact our Examination Offices (German only).

As usual, you can send final papers, project work and similar written work as well as other documents to us by post. Please note that the postmark determines whether you have met the deadline. In addition, the digital submission of written works is now also accepted. You can upload your paper via Moodle in the course Prüfungsamt Fachbereich 2.
The registration key is: Verf@hren
Please note that compliance with the submission deadline also applies to digital submissions.

Extensions are possible, but only upon request. Such requests must be made by e-mail directly to our Examination Office (German only).

Please send any applications to our Examination Offices to the chairmen of the boards (German only) via e-mail. Alternatively, applications can also be sent by post.

Oral examinations and components of examinations consisting of an oral part (presentations etc.) can be conducted online. Further details are regulated by the examination boards.

The following video conferencing systems in particular are available for holding courses and examinations:

  • Zoom
  • Adobe Connect
  • DFN-Conf (Pexip)

The video conferencing system used for the course will also be used for the online exam. In the case of an online examination, the examiners will inform the students at least two weeks before the examination date which video conferencing system will be used and, if applicable, which additional requirements must be met.

In the winter semester 202/21, there will be a four weeks-examination period from February 15, 2021 to March 13, 2021.
You will always find up-to-date information on the exams in your Moodle courses.

On these pages, you'll find important information on your written exams.
