Advice and coaching

The International Career Service primarily supports international students in increasing their chances on the German job market. For this purpose, we offer you advice you on your career planning, check and optimize your application documents, support you in finding a suitable job or internship and inform you about relevant events and training courses about application and career.

As part of our approximately one-hour personal coaching via zoom, we will look at the following topics together:

CV: Does the format correspond to the German standard? Are all your professional stations presented precisely, completely and comprehensibly? Is the resume adapted to the job posting? Does it reflect your knowledge and skills?

Cover letter: Is the cover letter individually adapted to the job advertisement? Do you express your motivation? Why are you applying to this particular employer? Do your competencies match the required skills?

Job search: Which job portals are relevant for you? How do you activate your personal and professional network? Are social media platforms such as LinkedIn or initiative applications also an option?

Interview: How do you present yourself to your potential new employer? How do you deal with difficult questions? Why are you a suitable candidate?

Career planning: How do you envision your career? What are your challenges? What are the next steps?

Personal development: What stops you from reaching your (professional) goals? Is it self-doubt or lack of self-confidence? Perfectionism? Together we can identify your next steps to come closer to your goals!
