Funding opportunities

The Humboldt Foundation (https://www.humboldt-foundation.de/bewerben/foerderprogramme) promotes cooperation between excellent foreign and German academics. There are research fellowships and research awards for young postdocs at the start of their academic careers as well as for established, experienced academics at every career stage.

In the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship database you will find a wide range of offers and information on funding opportunities from the DAAD and other selected funding organizations for your teaching or research stay in Germany.

The German-American Fulbright Commission (website only available in English!) offers exchange programs for U.S. teachers who wish to teach and/or conduct research at a German university.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is the self-governing organization of science in Germany. It is organized as an association under private law and its members are research-intensive universities, non-university research institutions, scientific associations and the Academies of Sciences and Humanities. https://www.research-in-germany.org/en/your-goal/advanced-research/funding-and-awards.html
