Erasmus+ Short-Term Mobility

Just a short trip? Inclusion is a central component of the current Erasmus+ programme generation (2021–2027). For students who, for any reason, are unable to undertake a long-term stay abroad, short-term mobility is a suitable option. The stay is funded for a maximum of 5 days and must take place as part of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) at a partner university or within a blended programme.

What is a Short-Term Mobility?

Short-term mobilities must always be carried out in a blended format, which is why they are also called blended mobilities. A blended mobility is a combination of a physical mobility of varying duration (short-term mobility 5–30 days) and a virtual phase that takes place before, during (accompanying, not as an interruption), or after the physical mobility. The goal is to facilitate collaborative online learning exchange and teamwork. The virtual component can, for example, bring together learners from different countries and fields of study online to attend courses or work jointly and simultaneously on tasks that are recognized as part of the final assessment.

For teaching staff at Frankfurt UAS

Are you a teaching staff member at Frankfurt UAS and would like to organize a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) in Frankfurt or plan a blended mobility? Or would you like your course to participate in a BIP at a partner university?

Are you a student at Frankfurt UAS?

Currently, Frankfurt UAS only supports individual BIPs and short-term programs. There are no calls for proposals like those for long-term activities. Only selected students can participate in this type of activity. If you are planning to take part in a short-term mobility soon, the following section is relevant for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Short-Term Mobility team.

The International Office supports the following projects:

  1. Participation of students in BIPs that are co-organized by Frankfurt UAS.
  2. Participation of students in short-term programs organized and, if applicable, supervised by professors of Frankfurt UAS.
  3. Participation in short-term programs and BIPs within the European University U!REKA (no supervision or organization by Frankfurt UAS required).

Excluded from funding are:

  • Excursions to partner universities (as these cannot be graded or recognized).
  • Participation in programs not offered by a partner university (e.g., paid summer universities, BIPs from other universities, language courses, etc.).
  • Short-term projects that do not result in the awarding of ECTS credits.
  • Short-term projects that cannot be recognized.

Daily funding rate: 79 euros
Special funding (if applicable): one-time payment of 100 euros
Information about travel costs, travel days, and special funding can be found here.

The process for short-term mobility differs from a long-term mobility. Only selected students can participate in such a program. Accordingly, the main prerequisite is that you have been invited to take part in a short-term program abroad. Furthermore, the following requirements apply for Erasmus+ funding:

  • You are enrolled at Frankfurt UAS
  • Successful acquisition of at least 3 ECTS during the short-term mobility
  • Recognition required: the minimum requirement is the recognition of these credits in your HIS transcript
  • Creation of a learning agreement (Digital Learning Agreement)
  • Signed Grant Agreement
  • Submission of program-relevant documents: enrollment certificate, proof of insurance, Learning Agreement + any changes, signed Grant Agreement, certificate of stay, Transcript of Records from the partner university, recognition by Frankfurt UAS in the form of your HIS transcript, completion of the EU Survey
  • Compliance with deadlines

Before the mobility:

  • Fill out the application form in our application tool Mobility Online – you will receive the link directly from the International Office.
  • Enrollment certificate for the semester in which you will complete the short-term mobility.
  • Sign the data protection declaration.
  • Digital Learning Agreement (signed by all three parties – student, program coordinator of your study program, and representative at the host university).
  • If applicable, a declaration of honor for special funding.
  • Proof of insurance.
  • Sign the Grant Agreement.

After the mobility, the following documents must be uploaded on Mobility Online:

  • Confirmation of Attendance oder Certificate.
