Exmatriculation

You can request for exmatriculation anytime online via the FranCa portal for students.

Possible reasons for exmatriculation:

  • Withdrawal from enrollment/re-registration
  • Interruption/discontinuation of studies
  • Change of university before re-registration
  • Change of university after the start of the lectures (at the latest by 30.04. for the summer semester/ 31.10. for the winter semester)
  • Other reasons

The exmatriculation is usually effective as of the end of the ongoing semester (for the summer semester by 30.09/ for the winter semester by 31.03). The student status is valid until the end of the semester.

It is also possible to exmatriculate on a specific date of your choice. Please note that your student status expires on this date and that this will have financial and insurance implications (e.g. health insurance, Bafög, child benefit, visa status).

Exmatriculation ex officio

The exmatriculation ex officio is carried out by the university in specific cases.

Possible reasons for an exmatriculation ex officio:

  • Outstanding fees after the re-registration deadline
  • Late payment of health insurance contributions
  • Lack of proof of insurance status
  • Loss of the examination entitlement

If you would like to complete your Bachelor or Master’s degree course at the end of a semester, you must complete all courses, including the thesis and the colloquium at the end of the semester (31.03 for the winter semester and 30.09 for the summer semester). The re-registration is mandatory as soon as an examination takes place in the following semester.

If you have passed all examinations and only the entry in the system is missing, you do not need to re-register. Otherwise, the administrative fee of €50 will be retained. In this case, you must submit a refund request via the FranCa portal. After the end of the semester, please fill out this reimbursement request form digitally and send it to us by email at studienbuero(at)fra-uas.de.

The exmatriculation after the passed final examination takes place at the end of that particular semester with the date of your last examination. The student status is valid until the end of the semester.

If you find out after the re-registration deadline that you have failed one or more of your exams, please contact the Student Services Center immediately. You will then be provided the opportunity to re-register late at no extra cost, even if the new semester has already begun.

You can withdraw from enrollment/re-registration until the start of lectures. The request can be submitted online via the FranCa portal for students.

If you withdraw within the specified deadlines, you will be considered not enrolled or not re-registered for the following semester.

You can request reimbursement of the semester fee online via the FranCa portal for students.

Possible reasons for a reimbursement of the semester fee:

  • Withdrawal from enrollment/re-registration (only until the start of lectures)
  • Change of university

If you no longer have access to your FranCa portal, you can send the digitally completed reimbursement request by e-mail to studienbuero(at)fra-uas.remove-this.de.
