[Let's talk together] Studying abroad is more than just lectures and exams – it’s a journey of discovery, challenge, and growth. In this talk, Devanshi Shah shares her personal story as an international student navigating life, learning, and travel in Germany.
From her first impressions on arrival and the cultural surprises of settling into Frankfurt, to the everyday joys and struggles of learning German and adapting to new academic styles, Devanshi reflects honestly on what it means to study far from home. She will speak about her housing experiences, friendships across cultures, and the support of spaces like TalkBar in creating a sense of belonging on campus.
The talk also highlights her unique opportunities to travel with professors and fellow students – exploring the USA, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Through short stories and memories, Devanshi shares what these journeys taught her about sustainability, urban design, culture, and, of course, food.
Closing with reflections on personal, academic, and emotional growth, this session is both a story and an invitation. Students are encouraged to join the discussion, share their own experiences, and imagine the travels and opportunities their time in Germany might bring.
