The ERASMUS+ Program is an EU educational program that provides financial and organizational support for students to complete a study or internship abroad in Europe. Currently, you can study in 31 different European countries as part of the program.
You will receive financial support, pay no tuition fees, and your academic credits will be recognized by Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. You are eligible for up to 12 months of ERASMUS+ funding per study cycle, which can be a combination of internship and study abroad.
If you apply for a study semester at one of our European partner universities, you will automatically receive the ERASMUS+ funding. No separate application is required for this.
Special Case Switzerland: Switzerland will continue to have the status of a partner country, but not a program country. Therefore, participants nominated for Switzerland can study there with a waiver of tuition fees but are not eligible for ERASMUS funding. However, the Swiss side will provide the corresponding financial support.
The priorities of the 2021–2027 program are social inclusion, the green and digital transition, and the promotion of young people’s participation in democratic life.
Overview of the program priorities:
Social inclusion and equal opportunities are guiding themes of the Erasmus Generation 2021–2027. Participation in the program is intended to become more attractive to those who have previously opted out due to social or financial barriers.
Green travel: Physical mobility and the associated personal and cultural exchange remain core elements of the Erasmus+ program. However, physical mobility resulting from study and teaching stays, internships, or travel related to transnational cooperation projects inevitably leads to CO₂ emissions.
Digital transformation: The digitalization of the Erasmus+ program is one of the major themes for the future of European university cooperation. A number of digital activities are currently being tested in order to be implemented across the entire Erasmus+ program from 2021 onward.
Participation in democratic life: Strengthening European identity and promoting active involvement of individuals and civil society in democratic processes are central to the future of the European Union.
You can find an overview of the opportunities and priorities of the new Erasmus+ program in the EU Commission’s factsheet.
