On these pages you will find information on frequently asked questions from students that reach us at the Info-Center. If you need further orientation, contact the Info-Center at the Frankfurt UAS directly.

You can find all important information, to-dos and FAQ concerning your start at the Frankfurt UAS on these pages for the first-semester students. Here you will find, for example, the schedule of introductory events for your degree program, various welcome videos, a virtual campus tour, links to relevant platforms so you can network, and much more. Please check these pages regularly as updates are frequent.

We recommend visiting the Information page of the Student Services Center and reviewing the checklist for first-year students (German only) provided by Campus IT. These pages also contain links to the relevant pages for the respective necessary steps. Here are the details again:

  1. Receive your login details (uas number = username and activation code) on the FranCa portal for applicants.
  2. Activate your CIT account. Click here for an instructional video on how to activate your CIT account (German only). If you have any technical problems with your CIT account, please contact Campus IT.
  3. Retrieve your university email address on Webmail. For more information, see the page Mailservice (German only).
  4. Log in to the FranCa portal for students. For more information, see the page FranCa – Your Student Portal. If you have technical problems with your FranCa account, please contact the Student Services Center.
  5. Log in to the campUAS learning platform. For more information, see the page campUAS for Students.
  6. Pick up your StudyChip. For information on picking up your StudyChip, see the page Student Services Center.
  7. Activate your Germany Semester Ticket. For more information, instructions, and a download link, see the AStA Semester Ticket Office page.

The Student Services Center is responsible for all matters concerning the organisation of your studies (enrolment, re-registration, exmatrikulation, Study Chip, certificates, applications). You can already do a lot directly on the FranCa portal for students. You can find more information and contact details on the Page Student Services Center. If you have general questions about the organisation of your studies, you can also call the Info-Center hotline.

Job offers for student assistants at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences can be found on the page other job ads of the faculties and departments (German only).

If, during the course of your studies, you have doubts about whether you have chosen the right discipline or if you have other problems that are affecting your studies, the Student Advisory Center is there to help you with information, coaching and psychosocial counseling.

The Student Advisory Center offers a variety of support services to help you cope with psychological stress during your studies (e.g. exam nerves, conflicts in your partnership/family, sleep disorders, loneliness, intercultural issues...).

The Family Office (German only) is available to answer questions about the compatibility of studies, work and family and has a wide range of offers to help.

Anyone who spends the whole day at university needs a break now and then. You can find an overview of all the options on our website Food and drinks on and around campus.

Once you have enrolled, you will receive an e-mail informing you when and where you can collect your Study Chip.

Your personalized Study Chip is...

  • your student ID card,  e.g. for identity checks during examinations
  • your library card
  • your money card for payment transactions in the canteen, the printer pool and the library.


If you need a new Study Chip (loss, defect or change of name), go to the website of the Student Services Center. There you will find the appropriate applications.

The Semester Ticket is included in the semester fees and allows you to use local public transport. You can find the download link, instructions, information on the area of validity, and the refund application form on the AStA  Semester ticket office page.

If you still have questions about your timetable, contact the secretariat of your faculty. You can find the contact details on the web pages of your faculty.

All dates for the current semester, as well as for following and past semesters, can be found on the page for semester dates.

You must re-register in the stated period of time and pay the semester fees in order to continue your studies (in the same degree course). Information on the re-registration deadlines and the amount of the semester fee, which can change from semester to semester, as well as information on the re-registration of graduates can be found on the website re-registration.

The Career Service of the Student Advisory Center provides support with information, coaching, counseling and other services when it comes to applying for a job or making an upcoming career decision.

  • Language Center: Language courses, self-study offerings, writing workshop, exams/certificates and more. All dates and times are published on CampUAS.
  • Learning Center at Frankfurt UAS: group study rooms, silent study rooms, lending of work materials and support services 
  • Library: Specialist literature (print and online), advice, tutorials and training courses on research and literature management, individual and group study rooms, PC pool, printers and other services.
  • Math Workshop (German only): Offers for math and physics
  • ReActing (German only): Offers in the field of scientific work
  • Starting your studies: Event dates to prepare for your studies 
  • StudyCompass - support for students: All counseling and support services available during all phases of your studies at a glance
  • StudyCompass info-letter: Get the counseling and support services at a glance every 2 months
  • Study with disability (German only): Counseling center for students with disabilities, impairments, chronic-somatic & mental illnesses
  • Writing Lab (German only): Coaching, workshops, tutorials and information material about writing and texting
