Critical Social Work (M.A.)

The Master's degree program in Critical Social Work - Social Change, Intersectionality and Diversity (M.A.) qualifies students for reflective, discrimination-sensitive practice and research in the context of social equity. The focus is on social sustainability, gender equality and the reduction of social inequality - based on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The course provides in-depth theoretical, empirical and methodological knowledge to critically analyze and question social, political and economic structures and to change them in a context- and application-oriented manner. You learn to recognize discrimination on an individual, structural and institutional level and to deal with it professionally. The focus is on strategies for political intervention and ethical action as well as the ability to develop sustainable solutions.
You will acquire practical skills in counselling, communication, pedagogy, law enforcement and organizational development - always with a view to diversity and power relations. The course also enables you to independently plan and implement research-based projects in the national or international context of social work.

The program is only available in German, therefore please refer to the German version of this page for more information.
