Admission requirements

Applications can be submitted until April 15, for the summer semester and until September 30, for the winter semester.

⦁ The prerequisite for admission to this program is a first qualifying university degree in the fields of mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or subject-related comparable courses of study with at least 210 ECTS credits and a final grade of 2.5 or better.

⦁ In addition to the above-mentioned prerequisites, sufficient English language skills are required as an admission requirement, as evidenced by a language test (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate, DAAD) or other proof of language proficiency showing a language competence of at least B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) recommended by the Council of Europe and not older than three years. On this info sheet you will find further information on the topic of language certificates.

The proof of English language skills is waived if

a. the first university degree qualifying for a profession was acquired in an English-speaking country or at a bilingual educational institution, or
b. the first university degree qualifying for a profession was obtained in the Bachelor's program "Electrical Engineering and Information Technology" or "Mechatronics" of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences or
c. at least 20 ECTS credits were earned in English-language modules in the first professional degree.

Part-time studies

Students, whose course of study has deviated from the regular course of full-time studies – for whatever reason – can seek personal counseling from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.

Goal of the counseling is, while considering personal conditions of an individual course of study, to graduate in an appropriate period of time. In order to reach this goal, we will develop a course plan together with you.

It is also checked whether there are reasons for a formal application of part-time studies. Additional information about the requirements and study organization of part-time studies can be found on the pages of the Admissions office.

The consultation is offered by the degree course counselors or the degree counselor of your degree course. Please schedule an appointment via email.
