Admission requirements and enrollment requirements

(1) The master’s program is designed as a consecutive program. Admission to the master’s program is limited to those who

  1. have completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics with a standard duration of at least six semesters or at least 180 ECTS credits (credit points) or
  2. possess a degree profile corresponding to the requirements of the Master’s program in Digital Business Management (M.Sc.) as specified in No. 1. The requirements are met if
  1. a degree from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences or another institution of higher education that is at least equivalent to the degrees listed under No. 1 and in a related field has been obtained, with a standard duration of at least six semesters or 180 ECTS credits, or
  2. a foreign degree that is at least equivalent to the degrees listed in No. 1, in the same or a related field of study as specified in No. 1, with a standard duration of study of at least six semesters or 180 ECTS credits.

(2) In addition to the requirements listed in paragraph 1, the application requires

  1. sufficient German language proficiency at a minimum of level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) recommended by the Council of Europe, and
  2. sufficient English language proficiency at a minimum of level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) recommended by the Council of Europe.

Proof of German language proficiency may be waived if the application is based on a degree from a German-language program.

(3) The current version of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences Statutes governing the aptitude assessment procedure and the university selection procedure for admission to Master’s programs with restricted enrollment in Department 3: Economics and Law, as amended, applies to the assessment of aptitude and the selection of applicants.

(4) The examination committee determines whether the requirements set forth in paragraphs 1 through 3 have been met.

(5) In the cases described in paragraph 1, if the previous degree program comprises fewer than 210 ECTS credits, admission is subject to the condition that, prior to admission to the Master’s thesis, the successful completion of modules totaling up to 30 ECTS credits must be demonstrated. The Examination Board decides on the selection of the modules. Proof of fulfillment of this requirement may be provided by successfully completing the additional module “Practice Transfer Project” (see Appendix 3 to the Examination Regulations).

Recognized proof of language proficiency

  1. General: All documents, including school transcripts, must not be more than five years old, provided they demonstrate language proficiency.
    Exception: Proof of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed entirely in German.
  2. Proof of participation in a C1 course
  3. Proof of participation in a DSH preparation course
  4. Proof of successful completion of German-language modules totaling at least 20 ECTS credits
  5. Completion of lower secondary education in Germany or a comparable secondary school diploma in a German-speaking country in the German language
  6. Vocational training in Germany or in other German-speaking countries in the German language
  7. German university entrance qualification

    1. General: All supporting documents, including school transcripts, must not be more than five years old if they are intended to demonstrate language proficiency.
      Exception: Proof of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed entirely in English.
    2. German university entrance qualification: English as a continued foreign language (at least five years) up to the qualification entitling the holder to university admission. The final grade, or otherwise the average grade of the last two school years, must be at least a German grade of “4” or 5 points.
    3. Foreign university entrance qualification: Provided that the language of instruction was English in all subjects except for foreign language acquisition
    4. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree taught in English
    5. Proof of successful completion of English-language modules totaling at least 20 ECTS credits
    6. Proof of successful completion of an English-language specialized language certificate at the B2 level or higher, obtained at the Center for Specialized Languages at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences:
      a. either at least 8 SWS General English B2 or  
      b. at least 4 SWS in the Specialized Language Certificate
