Valentin Schwind ist Professor für Mensch-Computer-Interaktion an der Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Seine Arbeits- und Forschungsschwerpunkte sind immersive Nutzererlebnisse und Benutzerschnittstellen in der virtuellen und erweiterten Realität. Er war vor der Professur als Entwickler, Designer, Art Director und technischer Leiter für CGI/VFX-Animationen und Videospiele tätig. Während seiner Promotion war er im Sonderforschungsbereich SFB-TRR 161 "Quantitative Methoden für Visual Computing" an der Universität Stuttgart beschäftigt. Im Jahr 2017 hat er bei Oculus Research (Meta) in Redmond (WA) gearbeitet. Seine Dissertation wurde von Niels Henze betreut und beschäftigte sich mit dem Uncanny Valley von virtuellen Charakteren und Avataren. Im Jahr 2019 war er Akademischer Rat für Medieninformatik an der Universität Regensburg. Heute erforscht er in innovativen Projekte neue User Interfaces und neuartige Nutzererfahrungen, Fragen der sozialen Akzeptanz und intelligenter Nutzerschnittstellen.
