(1) The master’s program is designed as a consecutive program. Admission to the master’s program is only granted to applicants who
- hold a first professional degree from a German university in a program with at least 180 ECTS credits in the field of economics, or
- the academic profile of a degree as described in No. 1 meets the requirements of the Master’s program in Accounting and Finance (M.Sc.). These requirements are met if a degree in economics or a related field from a German or foreign university that is at least equivalent to the degree described in No. 1 has been obtained.
(2) In the cases described in paragraph 1, nos. 1 and 2, if the previous degree comprises fewer than 210 ECTS credits, admission is subject to the condition that, prior to graduation, the successful completion of modules totaling up to 30 ECTS credits must be demonstrated. The Examination Board decides on the selection of modules.
(3) The academic profile of the degree referred to in paragraph 1 must meet the requirements of the Master’s program in Accounting and Finance. This requires that the qualification demonstrated by the degree includes knowledge and practical skills in at least one of the following areas:
- External Accounting
- Internal Accounting/Controlling
- Finance
- Tax
- Quantitative methods
These knowledge and skills are considered demonstrated if at least 45 ECTS credits were earned in modules during the previous degree program that focus on one of the aforementioned areas.
(4) In addition to the requirements listed in paragraph 1, the application requires
- sufficient German language proficiency at a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) recommended by the Council of Europe, and
- Sufficient English language proficiency at a minimum of level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) recommended by the Council of Europe.
A detailed overview of accepted proof of the above-mentioned language proficiency is published on the Frankfurt UAS website—and can be found at the end of this text.
Proof of German language proficiency may be waived, in particular, if the application is based on a degree from a German-language program or if a German university entrance qualification is submitted.
(5) The current version of the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences Statutes governing the eligibility assessment and university selection procedures for admission to Master’s programs with limited enrollment in Faculty 3: Economics and Law, as amended from time to time, applies to the assessment of eligibility and the selection of applicants.
(6) The examination committee determines whether the requirements set forth in paragraphs 1 through 4 have been met.
