Information for prospective students of Renewable Energy (M.Eng.)

Climate targets can only be achieved through a sustainable energy supply – and renewable energies play a key role in this process. Would you like to help shape the energy supply of the future? Then our Master's program Renewable Energy (M.Eng.) could be the right one for you: This degree program will provide you with the knowledge and skills that will enable you to take on innovative tasks in the industry, the public sector and in research.

You can choose between a 3- and a 4-semester study program: If you have completed a bachelor's degree in electrical power engineering, you can choose the three-semester option; if you have completed a bachelor's degree in another electrical engineering field; you can choose the four-semester option.

Why choose this Master's program?

  • Two innovative fields of study: "Renewable Power Engineering" and "Sustainable Engineering"
  • Applied learning with full-time faculty members
  • Small class sizes – personalized learning
  • Exciting opportunities for industrial projects and research
  • Vibrant campus in the heart of Frankfurt

Challenges and potential of renewable energies

Frankfurt UAS does not charge tuition fees. Domestic as well as international students pay a semester contribution which covers, for example, the price for the semester ticket for unlimited use of public transport in Frankfurt and Hesse, social contributions to the students union et cetera. The semester contribution is currently around 360 Euros.

About your Studies

The program comprises two fields of study: In "Sustainable Engineering", you will deal with sustainability topics – for example, electromobility and energy-efficient drives, industrial usability of biomass or environmental compatibility of economic projects. The study field "Renewable Power Engineering" provides you with comprehensive knowledge on topics such as the integration of decentralized power generation into intelligent power grids or the modern power control of photovoltaic and wind power plants.

This study program is complemented by two extensive project modules. Here, you will work on innovative energy technology issues with industrial relevance in a team with fellow students.

You're uncertain whether this master's program is right for you? Our program director Prof. Dr. Hartmut Hinz will be happy to advise you – by phone, e-mail or Zoom. Simply arrange a personal meeting via e-mail.
