Description of the study program

A vacation or a business trip wants to be well planned. From tour operators, travel agencies, hotels and incoming agencies to transportation companies a smooth cooperation is required. Behind this is a highly complex system to get group, business and individual travelers to their self-determined destination quickly, safely and conveniently. The pandemic and climate change pose new challenges for the tourism industry, which on the one hand have to be overcome, but for industry insiders are also recognized as "igniting opportunities" for the "tourism of the future". What can you expect? A goal-oriented and well-founded business education that prepares you professionally, methodically and linguistically (English/Spanish) for the tourism industry in a national and international context. Knowledge that you will be able to put into practice already in the business study sections. Varied excursions and attractive practical case projects enrich your everyday study. The basic principles: Quality, Sustainability, Diversity play a decisive role throughout your studies!

Career prospects

This degree program is aimed at students with a strong affinity for business administration and the tourism industry who are interested in starting a career in a cooperating company. However, the dual study program also qualifies you for other diverse management tasks in small, medium and large tourism companies.

Study structure

The dual study program is designed for six semesters. The theoretical and practical phases take place alternately (usually every 12 weeks) at Frankfurt UAS and in the cooperating company. You will benefit from the practical experience gained during the practical study phases and from the opportunity to establish far-reaching contacts within the company and beyond. You will also receive a training allowance from the cooperating company for the entire duration of your studies!

The Dual Program Tourism Management - Tourism Management (B.A.) combines the imparting of theoretical knowledge and skills at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with the application and consolidation within the framework of operational study sections in the cooperation companies of the tourism industry. The significance of the dual profile lies in the combination of university studies and professional practice, which enables you to integrate your university studies with your professional qualification. The integration aims to give efficiency-enhancing impulses to both your studies and your professional activity. The in-company study sections give you the opportunity to test, observe and discuss the acquired knowledge, skills and methods in your in-company activities and, beyond that, in higher-level decision-making situations. Experience from professional practice is guaranteed through case study work and applied project work in the tourism modules, among others.
